Florence Peto reproduction crib quilt by Ruth Bowman at Threadbear Quilting

Florence by Ruth Bowman

What a great time we had at the AQC! It was a busy five days, but good to catch up with so many who had come to enjoy the fantastic quilts and all the retail therapy in such a beautiful setting as the Royal Exhibition Building. I always feel very lucky to have all of our quilts so well received. This time I wished that Di, Megan & Ruth had all been beside me to hear the praise heaped on their quilts!! It was also especially nice to meet new friends from Perth, Adelaide & Sydney. Now we have our heads down working on new quilts and fabric parcels to offer at the July Craft & Quilt Fair in Melbourne.

So far this month, we have received mostly bits & pieces of ranges but are still expecting several new collections any day now . . . if Murphy’s Law applies, probably just after this newsletter is published! New on our shelves are two prints from Home To Roost – lovely bird prints—nearly sold out already but with more on order; more bolts to add to our Mrs. March’s Antiques; 9 pieces from the Gettysburg Rememberance; a few more from the ranges of Redworks, Feedsack, Old New 1930s and Itsy Bits. A handful of new books have arrived to give you great ideas for quick & easy quilts. We are now stocking the Pre-Cut Paper Templates for English piecing—hexagons, diamonds, clamshells, & applecore in a variety of sizes.

Look for details of our special day sewing for the Cushions for Breast Cancer organisation in the May 2010 Newsletter, online now at Threadbear Quilting.

Until next time . . .Corliss
